Necker, Sir Richard Branson’s private island paradise, is situated in the British Virgin Islands, a stunning and unspoilt area of the Caribbean. At 74 acres, Necker sits in turquoise waters surrounded by coral reefs and fringed with beautiful white sandy beaches. The island can be hired exclusively or you can enjoy the Necker experience during selected Celebration Weeks when individual rooms can be booked by singles or couples to enjoy our fabulous island paradise ‘house party’ style. Guests are encouraged to treat Necker like their own home, and are welcome to help themselves to anything they want, any time.
Although Necker Island’s Great House was destroyed by fire in 2011, the vast majority of the island and its facilities were unaffected. There will be some renovations taking in place in early 2012 with some exciting enhancements for the re-opening in April. The Great House itself will take a while to restore to its former glory but in the meantime guests will be accommodated within the six refurbished Bali Houses, Temple House (Sir Richard’s Branson’s house) and also on board Necker Belle, Sir Richard’s luxury catamaran! Therefore there is plenty of exciting spaces to sleep up to 28 guests for all kinds of celebrations with friends and family.
Guests can keep active during the day and enjoy state of the art water sports equipment. The highly qualified instructors are all very eager and on hand to teach kite-surfing, sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, paragliding and much more.
The tennis pavilion has two floodlit courts and a viewing area, where the resident professional tennis coach can help to perfect your game.
Leha Leha is the Balinese way of describing peace, relaxation and daydreaming, and there is no better place to do this than with a Necker Island spa treatment. Bali Leha is built into a cliff overlooking the sea and whilst being pampered by our fabulous range of treatments you will be able to enjoy beautiful ocean views, or close your eyes and drift away to the gentle sounds of the sea. The two fully trained beauty therapists offer a fabulous range of treatments.
Fine food is the highlight of any guest’s stay and rates are fully inclusive of all food and all beverages, including fine wine and champagne. The wonderful chefs prepare menus that are tailored to each guest. Dining can be formal or informal, inside or outside, themed or traditional or a mixture of everything!
Guests are encouraged to treat Necker like their own home, with a team of 60 fabulous staff taking care of guests every whim or fantasy.
The Rooms
There are six Balinese style houses which are perfect for tropical seclusion. Bali Hi, Bali Cliff and Bali Beach are built on a cliff to maximise views, and share a plunge pool. Bali Cliff has an open-air bathroom. Bali Lo, Bali Buah and Bali Kukila are nestled in the middle of the island and share relaxation areas and a large tranquil infinity pool. Temple House situated in the middle of the island with panoramic views, boasts a beautiful freshwater pool, large lounge with TV and surround-sound system. There is also a free-standing marble bath – ideal for soaking as you gaze out at sea. Necker Belle is a 32 metre (105ft) luxury catamaran; she will be docked at the island while The Great House is being rebuilt. Each of the 4 cabins come with large windows and is situated on the main deck above the water line where guests can enjoy the stunning views of the ocean.
