You absolutely must…

Must see:
Smithfields, THE meat market of London still trades its traditional wares in the early morning but if you are a night owl, many of the warehouses have been transformed into the area’s hottest nightspots. Tired revellers after a night of dancing can enjoy a calming pint and a full English at 5am before bed when the pubs open for the market traders.

Must explore:
Don’t forget to climb to the top of St Paul’s for the best views and then head across the millennium bridge to take in the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe. Spitalfields, Brick Lane and Columbia Road Market are all within easy reach to the East. Head 10 minutes in a taxi in the other direction and you will be in the heart of the West End.

The Whole Story

The Zetter is right in the middle of London's Clerkenwell, and Clerkenwell is right in the heart of 'new London'. It's the kind of area that has made the capital hip again. It's an area of lofts, converted warehouses and bars, restaurants and cafes. The brainchild of Mark Sainsbury and Michael Benyan, the Zetter does a good job of fitting into the local scene.

Its rooms are modern retro, its top-floor apartments loftlike with roof terraces of varying size, and the restaurant – a vast warehouse-style space on the ground floor – serves up fusion cuisine prepared by a resident Australian chef that everyone is very excited to see back in the UK.

As well as the Bistrot, the Atrium bar buzzes with local life and offers table service to avoid a queue, even when the after work crowd is in. In summer the stylish terrace over looking the cobbles of St Johns Square is the ideal place for an aperitif.

Clerkenwell is also a good spot for the tourist or theatre goer as Sadler’s Wells is close by. The city, old and new is easily walk-able; obvious attractions for this area include The Barbican, St Pauls cathedral and The Gherkin. Yet it’s also just a short cab ride, or long stroll down the Clerkenwell Road into the West End.

The Rooms

Rooms are loft-like and equipped with flat screen televisions, iPod docks and wireless internet connection.

The décor combines vintage ercol style with a bright, modern colour palette.

The smaller rooms are known simply as Guest & Superiors which are light with a dedicated workstation if you are combining business and pleasure

The Deluxe rooms are spacious and can also be twin bedded.

There are 3 types of rooftop rooms on the 5th floor which enjoy roof terraces of varying sizes and floor to ceiling windows that allow views of the rooftops.

For a splurge the best rooms, with the largest terraces are the Rooftop Deluxe Rooms.
