The Whole Story
Service in Asia is the best in the world, and service in Hong Kong is the best in Asia. To make your mark as a hotel in a town like this you don’t need to impress, you need to dazzle. And that’s exactly what the Four Seasons does. It doesn’t have one pool, it has two, each is more the size of a pond than a pool and swimmers can enjoy music underwater. Plus they are both on the roof, with one of the best views of Hong Kong. Instead of the usual cocktail by the pool, at the Four Seasons there is a Pool Terrace alongside, providing light meals and snacks for hotel guests. The gym is equally impressive, with an extraordinary view of the famous harbour from every machine. Then there is the spa, which on its own is the size of a small hotel.
But the area where this hotel has really raised the bar is the rooms. The corner suites (they have about 31 of them) must be amongst the best in the world. They are like apartments, with floor to ceiling glass and a rich contemporary style. But it’s neither the style nor the view that sets them apart, it’s the space. Due to the architecture of the building, the suites occupy two successive corners which divide the living and sleeping space in such a way that you really use both spaces, and again both spaces are built to take in the view. But best of all is the privilege that comes with these suites, you get to use the executive floor located on the very top of the building; a long, slender all-white space with high ceilings and an entire wall of glass, where the atmosphere is club-like, exclusive and private.
And then there is the shopping. The Four Seasons is connected to the International Finance Centre, the most upmarket and exclusive mall in Hong Kong, where the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Bvlgari and Loro Piana, to name but a few, all have their stores. As a guest you don’t ever really need to leave the building
The Rooms
The Four Seasons has 399 guest rooms and suites, which offer a variety of views from large wall-to-wall windows. Most face Victoria Harbour and Kowloon, while the rest overlook the city and the Peak. There are two styles of guest room – Western contemporary, with silk panelled walls and marble-floored entry foyers, and rooms with a traditional Chinese influence.
Starting at 45 square metres (484 square feet.), the hotel has some of the most spacious rooms in the city. Standard amenities include high-speed internet access, a large screen plasma television and DVD player, safe and mini bar. The bathrooms feature a deep soaking bathtub, separate walk-in rain shower, and a built-in LCD screen television with speakers. To take your experience to a higher level, the Executive Club Lounge offers stunning views and exclusive privileges.
