The Whole Story

LKF is the popular abbreviation of Lan Kwai Fong, the hottest, busiest and most club-infested area in Hong Kong. This is party central for HK. At night the streets are packed with crowds that move from bar to bar and club to club, the most sought after private member clubs are in this area as is Hong Kong’s most notorious nightclub – Dragon-I, known for its non stop glam crowd. The only thing that was lacking in this neighbourhood was a hotel. Hotel LKF fits the bill perfectly. It is literally across the street from Dragon-I, and it enjoys a top position in the area courtesy of being on top of the hill that defines Lang Kwai Fong.
The style of Hotel LKF is like the area: hip, contemporary, with a bit of edge, and a significant step away from the brand name dominated culture of Hong Kong. By this city’s standards it’s a small hotel, which only adds to its appeal. The rooms however can compete in terms of comfort and luxury with most of the better-known chain hotels. The bathrooms are almost as large as the rooms, and with their floor-to-ceiling glass walls they have the view and the light. The look is pared down and minimal, like a sophisticated city apartment with a Zen twist.
The best part of Hotel LKF is on the roof, where they have built a very sexy and inviting duplex bar and restaurant complex. The bar is dark, glamorous and plush, and then an architecturally imposing winding staircase takes you up into a huge double-height massive volume space with extraordinary views of the city below that functions as Hotel LKF’s restaurant – Azure Restaurant Slash Bar. Unlike Hong Kong’s big hotels, Hotel LKF only has one bar and one restaurant, but when you have one like this why would you need another
