The Whole Story
Nature walks, beachcombing, yoga, aqua yoga, aerobics, aqua aerobics, golf, windsurfing, scuba diving, waterskiing, sailing, snorkelling; Shanti Ananda is all about leaving in better shape than when you arrived. This 36 acre resort on the south side of Mauritius has the quintessential island ingredients i.e. turquoise water, coral reef, beaches and tropical gardens. But it also has a mantra that says “We go beyond simple indulgence of the body and senses to exploring one’s innermost self”. The emphasis is on the wellbeing, not just of the body but also of the mind and spirit. In short, Shanti Ananda is all about a holistic experience.
Scary as it sounds, holistic does not mean a daily ritual of vegetable juices and enemas. In no way is Shanti Ananda a boot camp. It does however take its 70,000 square foot spa very seriously, and apart from its marvellous menu of ayurvedic treatments the emphasis is very much on nature, rest, beauty and stillness.
Shanti Ananda is the sister property of the famous Ananda Spa in the Himalayas, and it shows. Shanti Ananda combines the nurturing ingredients of an idyllic tropical island with the spa experience attributed to one of India’s most famous spa destinations
