The Whole Story
Even if you’ve never heard of it, China Beach sounds exotic and promising. It is evocative proof that Vietnam is a country of sublime beauty; it has misty mountains and brilliant green rice paddies, but it’s the beaches that are the most unspoiled and least heralded. China Beach is a charismatic example of the gems that define Vietnam’s unspoiled coastline. It is also situated near the ancient river trading port of Hoi An, recently listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site because of its wealth of well preserved colonial buildings.
Nam Hai is a collection of villas and beach houses on pristine China Beach, with a view of the South China Sea and the distant Cham Islands. Understated and spacious, the charm of the complex is partially due to the historic Vietnamese approach to the architecture and landscaping, as defined by the split-level wooden platforms of its construction.
It is a luxurious resort that includes two gourmet restaurants, tennis, championship golf with clubhouse and a tropical spa, but it also offers something other parts of Asia cannot, namely cultural attractions that reflect the true spirit of Endochine, one of the least exploited areas of South East Asia.
The Rooms
All guests at Nam Hai are accommodated in villas. Each of the sixty one-bedroom villas are distinguished by indoor and outdoor sitting areas, but the most innovative touch is a raised platform set in the middle of the rooms enclosed by mosquito netting that creates a room within a room. Here you find the bed, sitting area and LCD TV. Bathrooms have both an oversized tub and outdoor rain shower.
The forty pool villas each have their own swimming pool as well as a kitchen and a maid’s room. They vary in size between 1 and 5 bedrooms so can cater for all family gatherings!
